Now on to the real beets and potatoes:
The GIVEAWAY!

It will be my excitement and honor to gift THREE of my calendars to you fantasmical readers (also, I am apparently in quite a mood for made up words - pay no heed!), in a delicious little package which will include an assortment of bits and bobbles from me!  You can count on the calendar, a mixed tape (ok, cd, but doesn't "tape" just have such a better vibe?) of tunes I've been listening to whilst painting my heart out, something tasty for drinking on chilly afternoons, and whatever other goodies I feel inspired to add in!
All you'll need to do is leave me a comment here,
just one,
say anything you'd like!
I'm looking forward to bundling up these presents for you!
Oh, and for those who do not live in the US?  Enter away!  I'm happy to ship 'round the world - it is the season for generosity and joy after all.

The giveaway opens, well, right now, and will close at the midnight strike of November 30th.
Good Luck!

And the 2013 Calendar?
She's on her way home from the printers and will be landing in the shop in just a few short days!

YUM!!

Hello! I thought I would share some childhood memories your paintings/calendar reminded me of...

When I was a little girl, my dad (who worked constantly) used to occasionally suprise my sister and I with something when he walked in the door (a giant ugly hair bow, a pin for our awesome puff painted 90's sweatshirts, etc). After my parents divorced, he would still bring us little gifts when he would pick us up for aour weekend visits. One particular visit, he brought us both books. My sister recieved a book about a fox, which came with a larger than lifesize fox stuffed animal. She used put jewelry & clothes on it, and pretended her imaginary fairy named Clarence rode it around. I recieved a book about Maynard the Moose, and I too got a large stuffed Moose. I slept with that moose all the time, and still have it! Now my 2 year old plays with it when he visits my mom's house.

Your calendar reminds me of those books, and my sister and I's fondness for animals. We nearly tore apart my mother's backyard to create little playlands for our toy horses (I recall getting in HUGE trouble for pulling up these big rocks to create a waterfall for the horses. I mean, a horse has to have a waterfall). We created a giant world for our horses in our game room, which included a makeshift post-office, movie theatre, aviary, and bank. Those little plastic horses had serious drama!

Anyway, I just thought of these memories as I was looking at your calendar & thought I would share for the giveaway. Beautiful work. I really hope to purchase some of your jewelry one day. Carnelian is my favorite of all stones, I have several pieces around my home.

Francesco Squirrelamanga “The Greatest Jewel Thief in the World!” halted, mid step, and chanced a glance over his shoulder. Was that just a tree throwing a shadow? The glittery jewel flashed brightly in his paw, casting possibilities and dreams all about in shatteringly beautiful lances of light. Not hours ago the opalescent dewdrop lay unassuming in the court of the high fairies. Squirrelamanga heard the leaves whisper of the wondermentof the jewel and he knew it should be liberated and its beauty shared with the world. Turning back to his quarry he became aware that he was most definitely being followed. A flash in the darkness was all the warning he got before the countessa of fairies materialized in front of Squirrelamanga. Perturbed by the loss of the dream jewel, she flew in a rage. Squirrelamanga was a a lover and a thief, yes, but he was not a fighter. So he pressed the fragile jewel into the skin of the Chestnut, making the tree all a glow. The countessa marveled at the transformation of her jewel into the tree of wondrous endings. A sad, but resigned look flitted across her tiny features and Squirrelamanga knew he had succeeded in making that corner of the world a little more beautiful.
